Stef from Cougar Fitness

Hi, my name’s Stef and I’m the proud owner of Cougar Fitness, LLC. This website is a fun interactive site for women who are not in their twenties but are still into looking hot and staying fit.

I wanted a better way to stay in touch with my friends and fans on a more regular basis, so I decided to develop this site. Here, I can share my diet and nutrition programs as well as my weight training and cardio routines and techniques. I’ll let you know what’s working for me and you can let me know what’s working for you!

This is also a great way to keep you up to date on the latest and greatest breaking news in fitness, wellness and health! Thank you … I’m so happy you’re visiting and I hope you become a Regular!!

My Workout:

I like to work out 5-6 days a week. Usually, mornings, before work, are best for me. I train to build muscle and burn body fat. I typically do a four day split, working two body parts each session. I’ll lift weights Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. I usually also do a little cardio (20-30 minutes). I also like to incorporate one “cardio only” day; usually Wednesdays. If I workout on a Saturday, it’s usually just cardio or catching up on a part that needs more attention. Lately, Saturdays have included a yoga class. I’m just starting to get into yoga, since it is so important to stretch and remain limber. Flexibility and muscle mass keep you young!

My Diet:

I eat 5 small meals a day, about 250-350 calories each, every three hours. I have at least 25-30 grams of protein with every meal meal and consume complex carbs in the morning and early meals. Toward the end of the day, I taper down my complex starchy carb intake and eat more fibrous veggies and leafy greens. In the evenings I often include a high protein, low carb meal like cottage cheese, egg whites or protein powder mixed with almond milk. I also drink a LOT of water. It’s really helpful in many ways which include making you feel full, cleansing and hydrating your body and even helping the fat-burning process! I make my water into a delicious treat by squeezing in fresh lemon and lime juices.

I banished sugar from my diet a long time ago and never drink diet sodas. I add stevia to foods and drinks when I need a sweetener. I also make as many organic food choices as I can. I avoid foods that are man-made or contain harmful anti-biotics or hormones. I buy meats that are free range and grass fed. I enjoy eating whole natural foods and find them to be satisfying and delicious. I also make as many things from scratch as possible. Homemade salsa is a staple in my household.

Yes, I do often count calories and weigh and measure my food. Although I pretty much know the nutritional values of most foods, it’s good to confirm it now and then.

My Secrets:

I think laughing a lot is important to maintaining health and youth. It’s also important to be able to laugh at yourself and not always take yourself or things so seriously. Having great relationships keeps you happy and grounded. I feel it’s important to surround yourself with people who share your interests and even goals … I also think being thankful every day for all the great things in your life keeps your focus in the right place. I wake up every morning and thank God for my life and my health and all the other blessings he gives me. Being in a constant state of thankfulness gives you a positive attitude and the proper outlook on life. And last, but not least, I believe it is my duty to keep this body (temple) in the best condition that I can. That is why I live the healthy fitness lifestyle.
