I read something the other day that said “be nice to yourself”. They went on to say, when you disappoint yourself with your diet choices or you just can’t force yourself to go to the gym, talk to yourself as you would a small child…you wouldn’t yell at the child. You would calmly explain why not going to the gym was an unhealthy and ultimately unhappy choice, and why going to the gym would be fun, exciting, healthy, and invigorating.
Your self-talk is powerful – let it be a motivator. It’s important not to beat yourself up. You wouldn’t say all those those mean and nasty things to anybody else who didn’t make it to the gym today, so don’t do it to yourself! [pullquote]“You must find the place inside yourself where nothing is impossible.”— Deepak Chopra[/pullquote]You are human and you won’t always be perfect. Maybe by treating yourself with kindness and focusing on positive and constructive “criticism”, you’ll be able to feel good and make a better choice next time.
When you are aiming to make serious changes in your life and transform your physique, your mind usually needs an overhaul too. It’s important to set goals for yourself and then re-word them as affirmations that you can read repeatedly throughout the day. The more you affirm your desires to yourself, the better you will feel through the positive reinforcement.

Once you learn to “speak” to yourself in a kind and positive way, and you feed your mind with the proper goals and affirmations, you harness the power within. You can achieve what you tell yourself you can. So start telling yourself how great you are and what a fit healthy body you have!
I put together a little guide for you if you are entering the Burn the Fat Transformation Challenge (or any other challenge for that matter – but why would you!). You can get your copy by filling out the form on the top right. It just contains some of the things I recommend for preparing yourself properly to get started.
Find the power within yourself. It’s in there. You simply need to harness it. I’ll see you in the Challenge 🙂
