Fear of First Workout in Years

Kelly is a police officer and a 40 yr old mother of two.  She decided to join a gym and get back in shape.  Kelly went to the local gym in a small village in upstate NY paid the $99 for three months and walked out the door.
The next day Kelly and her 14 year old daughter pulled into the parking lot of the gym and then…..  20 minutes later her 14 year old was pleading with her mother to walk into the gym…Sound familiar??  Yes joining a gym is a tough decision, but getting through the doors on day 1 is tougher. In this case Kelly did walk through the doors, after some coaxing, and had a blast in her first fitness class.  She was so excited, she couldn’t wait to return the next day.

Since joining the gym, Kelly has NOT stopped talking about the gym and what class she is going to participate in next.

Sounds like a success story to me…

I will always be grateful to my former boyfriend for getting me back into the gym. I literally was having panic attacks thinking about going in by myself. I thought that everyone there was going to judge me. It wasn’t until later that I realized I was the one judging not only others but myself.

Now, a year later, I really don’t know where I would be without my gym time. It is one of the ways I show myself that I love and respect who I am and who I want to become.

      Hi Anne!
Congratulations on getting back to the gym initially and sticking with it!! Yes, your former boyfriend did you a favor 😉 Has he seen you lately?! How awesome you’re looking?! I know the gym is now a huge part of your life and I love what you said about showing yourself love and respect. That is wonderful on so many levels.
