Is “something” really better than “nothing”? I guess I would have to say “yes”… and today is one of those prime examples….
Ever have those days where you know it’s going to be a short workout, so you are tempted to just skip it and get a “really good workout” in tomorrow instead? You know what often happens to me in those cases? Yes, I end up skipping today and then something comes up that makes tomorrow’s workout cramped for time as well! Or, worse, that one gets pushed aside too …
What’s a better solution? Probably, a better method is making the most of your time! A shorter workout repeated over and over again is going to add up to greater results in the long run than skipped workouts and sporadic “longer better” workouts.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m definitely guilty of that mindset myself! In fact, it’s something I’m trying to overcome. I have to realize that not every single workout will be perfect! Sometimes you just have to fit it in where you can. Some researchers even advocate breaking up your workout throughout the day. They say 3 ten minute workouts equal a single 30-minute workout.
So, it’s probably better to just get in your short workout, make it intense, and make it count. That’s what I’m going to do – right now. I’ll check in with you later 🙂
